Cramden Nursery was set up over 50 years ago by John Mitchell. Today the nursery is run by his daughter Emily and her husband Nic.
Climbers take up little ground space and are an excellent choice for small gardens. They provide vertical structure to the garden and will elevate their flowers beautifully. They will either twine their stems or leaf tendrils around framework such as other plants or a trellis perhaps. In fact, anywhere that they can find spaces to twine around.
We have a delightful range of ‘Clems’ here at Cramden Nursery, a good mix of colours to fit in with any colour scheme you might have in your garden. “H F. Young” is a beautiful single, soft blue-violet, with saucer shaped blooms about 4” wide. “John Paul II” has magnificent creamy white flowers, 5” across, accentuated with the palest pink stripe & deep red anthers. “Polish Spirit” is always popular, smothered in rich, deep violet, velvety blooms with pale green anthers, vigorous clematis that will fill a space for you very quickly. “Ville de Lyon” has bright carmine red flowers, 5” across with darker edges and yellow anthers. We have so many more varieties for you to discover, there really is a ‘clem’ for every garden style.
We also have several different varieties of Jasmine; “offinciale” has fragrant white flowers, “Stepanense” has pale pink scented flowers and “Fiona Sunrise” has glorious golden yellow foliage with ivory white, strong scented flowers.
Then there are the Lonicera (Honey Suckle; “Graham Thomas” with his fragrant white flowers soon turning to a buff yellow are so attractive and “Scentsation” has a wonderful vigorous growth and exceptionally fragrant creamy white-yellow flowers, which are followed by bright red berries. “Rhubarb & Custard” with her pink and creamy yellow, scented flowers is a real treat and like all of our climber’s flowers they are irresistible to bees.
