All the plants below are sold on the the nursery and a selection are available from the online Shop, as young plants. We only sell through the online shop during the months of March, April, May and June. NEW FOR 2008

GUERNSEY FLAIR "THE NEW YELLOW GERANIUM"

Guernsey flair has a pale primrose yellow semi double flower with red stigmas, over grey green almost tri lobed foliage. The leaf shape is nothing like any of the other zonal Pelargoniums “Geraniums” we grow.

It has a well branched habit and tends to bush well rather then grow tall. We have a good batch potted up into 2 litre pots which we shall be selling as flowering plants from the nursery, unfortunately we do not have a propagating license so we are unable to offer young plants for sale. It has been recived well here at the nursery, with some customers actively shopping for the "new yellow geranium", and others simply falling in love with the soft yellow flowers.

It looks fantastic in a big pot on its own or mixed in with some of the richer coloured Pelargoniums such as the trailing ivy leaf Pelargonium Tomboy with its deep burgundy red flowers, or with some of the more unusual Pelargoniums such as Lord Bute with its plum petals and pink edges, or Black Prince with its almost plum black petals with siliver edging, and even some of the richer deep magenta pink colours such as Lady Bute. It also sites very nicely with the new orange angel released by pac, "Angel Eyes Orange". I have even had some customers thinking about working it in with some of the Lavenders we now sell here on the nursery, and the combination is actually very pleasing. So it seams to be finding a place in our customers gardens and colour schem quite nicely.

NEW PLANT LINES

In 2006 we introduced a new plant line to the nursery PENSTEMONS.

Penstemons are one of the most reliable and colourful perennials available. We have over 12 different varieties with a good selection of colour and hope to increase this number as we develop this new line for the nursery. Most varieties will flower a second time in the autumn if the fading blooms are cut back giving you extended summer colour. They are often more winter hardy than they are given credit for, its not just the frosts that can cause damage but the wet can be just as dangerous to them.

For 2007 we introduced another new plant line to the nursery, it was AGAPANTHERS.

Agapanthus have such magnificent architectural flowers with their strappy foliage they are suitable for a whole range of situations in the garden, from the borders to gravel gardens to pots. They make such a wonderful display they are hard to resist. We have 10 varieties available this year as a trial to see what our customers think of them and how well we can grow them. It should be interesting to see how this line develops.
